We wanted to provide an update to the College Guidance Safe and Healthy Return to Campus-Mandatory Guidance for Colleges and University Campus Learning (PDF), Effective: May 18, 2021 and Expires: July 4, 2021
Do fully vaccinated faculty, staff and students need to wear a mask indoors or outdoors?
Inside: No, only unvaccinated or partially vaccinated faculty, staff and students have to wear a mask indoors when in the presence of others and in public space.
Outside: No, unless six feet of distancing cannot be maintained, until July 4, 2021 upon expiration of the above guidance.
* Unless you have a medical or developmental condition or have trouble breathing, you are not required to show evidence or documentation of your condition.
Is this guidance interim or also for the fall semester?
This guidance is set to expire on July 4, 2021. At this time, we have not received guidance for the fall semester.
Are there still travel restrictions for students who are still living on campus?
No, Vermont Tech is following the travel guidance in the Vermont Forward Plan
Do we have to submit daily self-attestations?
No, you are asked to follow universal guidance.
*Allied Health programs may continue with daily health screenings and clinical sites may have additional masking and distancing requirements regardless of vaccination status.
Do we need to provide proof of vaccination?
No, at this time we are following the Governor’s lead and using the honor system.Students (at this time, we are NOT asking students to volunteer this information). This will likely change before the start of the fall semester. Please be on the lookout for any requests for voluntary vaccination reporting starting this summer.
We will update the college community if this changes in the future.
Can I still wear a mask if I’m vaccinated?
Yes, you may continue to wear your mask if that makes you more comfortable.
When would I be required to take a test, if ever?
If a student is symptomatic, they may be asked to take a test.
If an employee is symptomatic, please contact your medical provider to determine if you should have a COVID test.
