What’s That New Building on Campus?

05 Apr 2018

There is a new building going up on the Randolph Center Campus, the new Vermont Agricultural and Environmental Lab. Almost 7 years ago, Hurricane Irene ripped through our Vermont communities, destroyed homes, and overpowered drainage culverts leading to mass flooding. The State lab was not immune to the rising water, and many scientists lost their workplace and years of research. The Vermont Tech campus was chosen as the ideal location for a new state-of-the-art lab and will provide valuable educational opportunities for Vermont Tech students.

The building is still under construction, but students in various programs have already had the chance to visit the site. On March 29th, freshman in the Architectural Engineering Technology program were offered a tour of the soon-to-be lab to get a front row seat to the building methods and practices used by the construction company.

The lab is expected to be finished by Summer of 2019.
