Vermont Tech Provides Teach-Out Assistance to Green Mountain College Students

24 Jan 2019

As part of a formal Teach-Out Agreement between Green Mountain College (GMC) and Castleton University and the Vermont State Colleges system, students currently attending GMC may enroll at Vermont Tech to complete their studies. The agreement includes a provision that waives any application fees for GMC students who apply at the state colleges. There are also provisions regarding participation in athletics, providing on-campus residency, and continuation of financial aid assistance. In all ways, the agreement seeks to provide as seamless a transition as possible for the benefit of the student.

To guide Green Mountain College students to programs at Vermont Tech, we have identified the following GMC majors that could align with our technical degrees:

  • Applied Environmental Science
  • Renewable Energy & Ecological Design
  • Environmental Studies
  • Business (Sustainable Business)
  • Animal Conservation & Care
  • Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems
  • Wildlife and Forestry Conservation
  • Natural Resources Management

All Green Mountain College students are welcome at Vermont Tech and the VSCS. We are saddened at the closure of a Vermont college. We will do our best to be supportive of the members of the GMC community and those who may wish to join us.
