The scholarship is designed to support Vermont Tech students who will carry forward their education to the UVM Dairy Program. The Vermont Legislature, through the Vermont Department of Agriculture, with generous support from the Vermont Farm Show, provides half-tuition scholarships for Vermont residents who begin the program at Vermont Tech and maintain at least a B grade average each year of their college career.  Students eligible for merit and need-based scholarships, including full and half tuition waivers, are ineligible to receive more than one institutional scholarship. Please contact the Financial Aid office with any questions.

Scholarship amounts listed are for new students only for the academic year 2022-2023. In future years, amounts may be adjusted downward if tuition decreases, so that the amount of the scholarship award remains consistent with the percentage of tuition met by the student’s most recent award.

A half-tuition scholarship is provided to any individual who can provide proof of Valedictorian and Salutatorian status from a Vermont public school, approved independent school, or recognized independent school. Students must have graduated from high school within the last 10 years and graduated in a class of at least 10 students. The scholarship is for Vermont residents and is renewable for up to eight consecutive semesters provided the student remain enrolled full-time and maintain a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Determination of Valedictorian/Salutatorian will be based on the graduating school’s standard practice and receipt of spring semester grades consistent with historical academic performance.

Green Mountain Scholarship

The Green Mountain Scholarship is awarded only to Vermont residents.
