Vermont Tech is Ranked Among the Best Regional Colleges for 2015 by U.S. News & World Report

In the annual best college rankings by U.S. News & World Report, Vermont Tech is pleased to announce that the college has been ranked number 36 among the Best Regional Colleges for 2015. As a public college, Vermont Tech ranks number 10, making it one of the top 15 public colleges in the north for the third year in a row. Vermont Tech is one of just two Vermont schools to rank in the best northern regional colleges category and is the only public college in Vermont to be included in the regional colleges in the north ranking.

“Students across the nation use these well-respected rankings in their college decision processes and we’re pleased that our hands-on style of instruction continues to position us as a leading school in the northeast,” said Vermont Tech Interim President, Dan Smith.

According to the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, the 364 Regional Colleges in the ranking focus almost entirely on the undergraduate experience and offer a broad range of programs in the liberal arts like business,nursing and education.

U.S. News & World Report gathers data from each college on 11 indicators of academic excellence to determine the annual rankings. The indicators range from student retention, peer assessment, student/faculty ratio and more. These rankings serve as a powerful tool allowing prospective students and their families to navigate the college search.
