On Monday, August 4, Vermont Tech President Dan Smith announced the appointment of Littleton “Lit” Tyler as dean of administration. Tyler has worked at Vermont Tech since 2008 and most recently served as a research analyst and director of institutional research, a position he’s held for the past two years. Tyler joined Vermont Tech as an academic scheduler and also serves as treasurer of the Vermont State Colleges United Professionals. As dean of administration, Tyler will plan, implement, manage and supervise the college’s financial and business affairs.
“I‘m excited to continue making a positive contribution to Vermont Tech,” said Tyler. “As director of institutional research, I was afforded the tremendous opportunity to really get to know this institution – its strengths and its opportunities for growth. I look forward to helping ensure Vermont Tech remain a financially sound Vermont institution in my new role as dean of administration.”
A Montpelier resident, Tyler attended the University of Vermont’s College of Engineering & Mathematics and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Operations Research. After graduation in 1999, Tyler worked in various positions involving payroll administration, bookkeeping and tutoring math. Tyler will be assuming his position as dean of administration at Vermont Tech immediately.
“Lit has been an extremely valuable member of the Vermont Tech community for the past six years,” said Vermont Tech President Dan Smith. “He has an extremely solid background in strategic planning and budgeting, and we are very pleased to welcome him in his new role of dean of administration.”
