Our Camp Experience
We discovered Rosie's Girls through teachers, camps, friends, and schools. Those of us here have taken the opportunity and soaked up all the inspiration and knowledge that it provided for us. Making new friends and listening to inspiring speakers has been a big part of the experience, and awoke the realization to all of us that we can be whatever we want, and nothing can stop us from pursuing our dreams.
Manufacturing Engineering
Using a modelling computer-aided design program CAD, we were able to design a pressure plate, using an informative tutorial. And with the help of others we all learned something new!
Science
We had the opportunity to discover and look at the bacteria that grows off of different surfaces. This involved working in groups collaboratively, and having patience! Our bacteria's sat incubating for two days before we could look at them much closer under a microscope. We learned about the process of culture media and how not all bacteria are bad!
Leadership
A big part of Rosie's girls was working as a team and being leaders! Throughout the camp experience we had numerous opportunities to display such acts.
Lessons Learned
Taking risks and going outside our comfort zone was a norm here. Such as climbing heights of 60 feet!
