Aviation: Professional Pilot Technology

Aviation: Professional Pilot Technology

Under expert faculty instruction, students master the sciences and technologies involved in aviation and hone the communication skills necessary to perform and compete in the aviation in addition to receiving comprehensive flight training.

Vermont offers a unique training environment because of its topography, quiet air space, and varied weather conditions, all of which allow students to develop important skill sets related to flying in all kinds of conditions. In partnership with Vermont Flight Academy, students can expect to complete 230-250 hours of flight time, and be fully prepared to become certified flight instructors.

Graduates will hold multiple Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificates and ratings and will be well prepared for a wide range of careers in aviation, including careers as professional pilots. Flight training includes private, instrument, commercial, certified flight instructor (airplane, instrument, and multiengine), seaplane, and multiengine land and multiengine sea. No other college program in the world offers the extra ratings, such as seaplane, and few offer more than four certifications.

Vermont Tech is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Institutions of Higher Education (NEASC). Vermont Tech is a member of Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI). Vermont Flight Academy is approved as a FAA Part 141 pilot school.

In addition to tuition, there are significant fees associated with the Aviation: Professional Pilot Technology program. Please see for a complete list of these fees.
