Mary K Hill, DNP, MSN, RN-BC, OCN, DNP

I am an assistant nursing professor with Vermont Tech at the Williston campus, working with practical nursing students and laying the foundation of their nursing education through our ADN and online BSN program. I have worked for Vermont Tech since 2008, first as a clinical instructor for the ADN’s in Williston, and then continued on to full-time faculty in the practical nursing program. My nursing specialties include nursing education, medical/surgical nursing, hematology and oncology nursing, leadership, and simulation. I am oncology certified, as well as a medical/surgical board certified nurse. I received my MSN in Nursing Education in 2010 and my Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2014. I am a member of the Vermont Organization of Nurse Leaders and was selected to participate in their Leadership Fellowship program bringing nurses to the forefront of healthcare. I am also a member of the Oncology Nursing Society, Northern Vermont Oncology Nursing Society, and the National League for Nursing. I am also an in-patient hematology/oncology nurse at Fletcher Allen Healthcare. I am the creator and coordinator for the Vermont Walk for Williams Syndrome. I am Vermont Tech Alumni, and have worked through all levels of nursing from Licensed Practical Nurse to Doctor of Nursing Practice. My passion is nursing education and integrating new technologies to meet the demands of today’s practice. I see nursing as a profession with endless possibilities and always strive to instill this in my students. I enjoy teaching the practical nursing students as this is the beginning of their nursing careers. I also believe in loving what you do as a nurse and helping my students find the love of nursing in themselves. I keep busy with three young boys and enjoy running whenever I can get outside: rain, snow, or sun.
