Kathleen Clark, APRN, FNP-C

Hello, my name is Kathleen Clark.  Many know me as Kat Clark here at Vermont Tech. I became part of the Vermont Tech family in September 2019.  I started as a clinical instructor and then Assistant Professor of the associate degree in nursing (ADN) program in the Southeast Region located in Brattleboro.

I started in the nursing field as a licensed nurse aide (LNA) in 1995 and worked in various long term care facilities.  I attended Vermont Tech at the Thompson School of Nursing in Brattleboro and was the first class to graduate in 2000 on the Randolph Campus.  I worked in long-term care of a year and then began my hospital nursing career at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) in the summer of 2001.  In 2005, I graduated from Vermont Tech with my ADN and became a registered nurse (RN).  I continued to work on the med/surg unit at BMH while taking classes needed to pursue my bachelor degree in nursing (BSN).  In 2011, I enrolled in the RN to BSN cohort program with BMH and University of Vermont (UVM).  I graduated from UVM in 2013 with my BSN, became an RN in the Emergency Department at BMH and enrolled in their masters of nursing (MSN) program, with a focus on Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). I completed my FNP clinical rotations at several of BMH’s medical offices. In December 2017, I finally completed my MSN and graduated from UVM.

My educational journey has been long and full of tremendous opportunities.  I am grateful to have started my nursing career as an LNA and work my way up the ladder. I encourage students to continue on and always seek opportunities to grow and gain new knowledge. The more knowledge you have, the better care you can provide your patients. I am so excited to be here at VTC teaching the future registered nurses. This is my opportunity to give back to the VTC for the solid foundation they provided me 20 years ago.

I live in West Brattleboro on our hobby farm, Camp Halladay Farm, with my husband, Chris. We raise goats, ducks and chickens. We have two amazing pups, Bailey and Reilly, as well as three adorable cats. I enjoy horseback riding, biking, kayaking, hiking and skiing. I absolutely love living in our beautiful state of VERMONT!
