Faye Tolar, M.Ed., RRT

Growing up in Indianapolis, Faye attended Indiana University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, continued on to complete a Certificate in Respiratory Therapy at Northwestern Medical School and then a Masters of Education at Trinity College.  She has worked for the University of Virginia Hospital as a Respiratory Therapist and Piedmont Virginia Community College as a Clinical Coordinator.  She spent time with the Medical College of Virginia Hospital as an Education Coordinator, Fletcher Allen Health Care as a Respiratory Therapist and Champlain College as the Program Director for the Respiratory Therapy program before coming to Vermont Tech in 2004.

Faye is affiliated with the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) and the Vermont/New Hampshire Society for Respiratory Care (VT/NHSRC).  Faye has served as Secretary and Delegate for the VT/NHSRC and currently is the Vermont representative for the AARC’s Political Advocacy Contact Team.  Since 1986, Faye has been a Registered Respiratory Therapist and is currently licensed in the state of Vermont as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.

Faye finds the dynamic field of respiratory care with its combination of high technology and direct patient care to be very rewarding.  As an educator, Faye enjoys most being able to help students understand the concepts behind the delivery of respiratory care.
