Welcome Commencement Volunteers!

Thank you for your willingness to be a part of these very special and important events!  This page will provide you with information regarding expectations, assignments, and timelines. Please be in touch with Mary Jeanne Taylor should you have any questions or concerns.

Wednesday, May 16 | Volunteer Meeting

We will have a one hour volunteer meeting at either 9 AM or 10 AM in Conant 102 (Randolph) and Room 214 (Williston); please plan to come to whichever works best for your schedule. It is very important that you attend this meeting…and there will be donuts!  We do not anticipate the meeting lasting a long time, though it is important…BYO coffee!

Friday, May 18

  • DRESS: Please dress in business casual attire.

    • Suggested attire for men – shirt/tie, khakis or dress slacks

    • Suggested attire for ladies - skirt, dress, dress slacks, blouse

    • Golf cart drivers – please wear a VTC shirt, if you have one, along with dress pants – no jeans. Please send a description of who you are, what you do at the college, etc, to Carrie Wright so that she can post this in your cart. Don’t forget to include if you are an alum! You will need to pick your cart up & return it at the end of the day, at Facilities; please do this when you get to campus.

    • ALL - PLEASE WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES – we anticipate a lot of walking & a lot of standing.

    • ALL – PLEASE WEAR YOUR VTC NAMETAG. If you do not have a current up-to-date nametag, please reach out to Carrie Clement by May 4 so one can be ordered for you.

  • DUTIES: please be in position by 8:30 AM!
  • PARKING: we are requesting that everyone parks in LOT H, the Morey lot today
  • LUNCH: will be available in Morey Dining Hall between 11AM-1PM. When time permits during this timeframe, head on over to MDH and after eating, please return to your positon promptly.
  • END OF SHIFT:  Please stay until at least 5 PM and be in the position you occupied at the start of the day as some folks need help getting back to their cars; if you are a golf cart driver, it will be closer to 5:30 PM.

Saturday, May 19

  • END OF SHIFT: please plan to stay for the ceremony & return to your position as the ceremony ends as some guests need help finding where they started.  If you were assigned to the tent, your clean up help will be most appreciated!.
