For every student at Vermont Tech, the reasons are different. Some choose us for our value, others for the warmth of our community, and still others because we are ideal for anyone who is ready to experience their potential.
A Vermont Tech education is:
Classes are small here (just 14 students on average), with a low student-teacher ratio of just 12:1. This means every student is known as an individual by his or her professors and peers, and every student’s ambitions are supported in full by our faculty, staff, and community. We also encourage you to pursue your personal interests through our clubs, athletics, and other nonacademic activities.
Applied learning is more than a buzzword at Vermont Tech. In addition to holding advanced degrees, most of our faculty have business or industrial experience – and real-world involvement is part of every class. The rigorous, broad-based education we offer is balanced out by hands-on opportunities to apply your skills and gain practical knowledge either off campus or by working at our own unique facilities.
As part of the Vermont State Colleges (VSC) system, we are able to keep tuition and costs low for the residents of Vermont and neighboring states. We also provide qualified students with financial assistance and scholarship opportunities. The majority of our students receive some form of financial aid, and we are committed to keeping our programs accessible.
We offer certificates and degrees that have relevance in today’s economy, recently demonstrated by the graduating class of 2014's job placement rate of 96 percent. Why do employers seek out our graduates? Because Vermont Tech grads bring more to the table: a unique combination of theoretical education and practical skills, and the enthusiasm that comes with confidence.
