Heather K. Blair MPH, RDH
Heather Blair began working in dentistry in 1999 as a Dental Practice Manager and was cross-trained into with many positions within the Practice. She now works in a private dental practice and with Head Start as their Oral Health consultant, while teaching at Vermont Tech.
“On the national level – American Dental Hygienists Association, I am currently the District 1 Constituent Advisory Committee member. I am also the Region 1 and Vermont Dental Hygiene Liaison with the National Center on Early Childhood Health and Wellness and the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors. I sit on the advisory board for the Vermont Oral Health Coalition and the School-based Dental Health Program at the Vermont Department of Health.”
Heather has been with Vermont Tech since becoming a clinical associate in 2010. In April of 2016, she began teaching.
Heather says, “I take all the continuing education that I can, I think I am a CE junkie. I read articles and continue to do my own research to strengthen my own knowledge and skills.”
Heather’s favorite course to teach is the Advance community oral Health class. The class visits middle schools and the Children’s Hospital to provide dental hygiene to community members who otherwise may not be able to access it.
“Students that are successful in my class are organized, self-starters that are driven to become the best provider that they can be.”
