As a transfer applicant, you have already completed college-level coursework at another college or university, and you appreciate the benefits of higher education. We think you’ll like it here.
Transfer students are a large and thriving part of Vermont Tech, and we are ready to help you navigate the process of joining our community. Our admissions staff is accustomed to sorting out transfer issues and concerns, so if you have a question, please let us know.
Many of our transfer students started at another college or university and found they needed something more practical, more rewarding or a degree with a better return on investment than where they began. Other students started their college careers at the Community College of Vermont so they could begin where they live and transfer to Vermont Tech to finish their bachelor’s degree. Whatever your beginning, let Vermont Tech help you get the degree you want with extra benefits of your transfer status.
If you are interested in becoming a transfer student, contact Shawn McElwain at any time. If you’re ready to apply, complete the Transfer Application.
Please note: If you are applying for one of our Healthcare programs, there are a few additional application requirements.
Use our self-service system to determine if your credits will transfer or meet a prerequisite prior to applying to a program at Vermont Tech.
If you don’t see your current college or a specific course on the list, please send an email to Shawn McElwain to have that course evaluated for credit. We will continuously update and add new courses as they are approved and we are always looking to expand our database to include new schools.
In addition to being a useful resource for students to self-check individual courses, we would still encourage students to submit transcripts and request preliminary audits with Shawn to see how all of their previous coursework would apply in total to their intended degree program here.
