The Coder Camp for Girls is a day camp designed for girls entering grades 7-12 (fall 2021) who want to learn about software development and experience making a program of their own creation.
July 26-30, 2021 | 8:30 am-4:30 pm
- Coder Camp is designed to give girls the opportunity to bring their creativity and translate that into an active software coding environment
- Cost: $175 (includes lunch, snacks, and all program activities)
- Partial scholarships available. To request a scholarship, please email Bridgett Taylor before registering.
Campers will work with Vermont Tech faculty and student counselors who have extensive experience with software development and inspired learning with a wide variety of students.
Campers will learn to program using SCRATCH, a friendly and robust programming language tool developed by MIT.
The camp experience includes a strong education component with computer labs each day to work on the development of a program, a chance to meet industry professionals, and with physical activity that will reinforce the labs with logic, team building, and some good old fashioned fun.
Non-binary and gender non-conforming youth are encouraged to sign up with the camp they will feel most comfortable attending. We are committed to a welcoming, respectful and inclusive environment.
IMPORTANT: We know this pandemic has been stressful to many and recognize that socializing and interacting with peers can be a healthy way for children to cope with stress and connect with others, particularly after spending quite a bit of time at home. After careful thought and planning, we are excited to let you know that we plan to resume camps while following CDC considerations to protect campers, families, and our community.
