This coding camp provides an opportunity for youth campers entering grades 8-12 (fall 2020) with some programming background to dive deeper into programming (or have attended one of the earlier entry-level Coder Camp for Girls or Boys). Campers will learn to develop simple Android applications using Java and xml. Smartphone apps, robots, video games, small business – the world runs on code. Whether you dream of becoming a Google developer or want to launch your own mobile game start up, your coding path continues here!
Campers will work with Vermont Tech faculty and student counselors who have extensive experience with software development and inspired learning with a wide variety of students.
The camp experience includes a strong education component with computer labs each day to work on the development of a program, a field trip to a local software development company, and with physical activity that will reinforce the labs with logic, team building, and some good old fashioned fun.
The camp experience culminates with campers presenting their work to parents and guests. Come see how your child has harnessed big ideas, gained essential programming skills, and the confidence to translate that into a runnable program.
