SWFI Eligibility Requirements

Who is eligible for the SWFI program?  If you can check off the entire list below, then it is you!

  • Custodial Parent* 17 years of age or older
  • Custodial parent with one of more children 13 years or younger, or at least one child with a disability or developmental delay that is older than 13 years of age
  • Eligible to work in the US

*A Custodial parent can include: a married parent, a single parent with full or partial custody, actively parenting step-parent, divorced parent with full or partial custody, a foster parent, legal guardian with custody, and/or a grandparent with custody.

SWFI is part of a national study to measure if offering students extra supports, together with skills training, helps them to complete training and find employment. Support services and space in specific training are limited. Eligible applicants will be chosen by a computerized selection process.
