Vermont Technical College (Vermont Tech) has enjoyed an average placement rate of 98% for over 10 years. Each year dozens of companies visit Vermont Tech during the spring semester to interview and hire some of Vermont's best technical talent. Students are selected for positions throughout the country, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Maryland and North Carolina and of course Vermont to name a few. As students look for that unique opportunity in the job market, the companies look to recruit the best technical team to meet their employment needs. It's quite an exciting time of year.
And recruiting at our school has never been easier. We've developed a variety of models to address the many needs of companies across the country. We offer:
On Campus Recruiting
With this method, companies visit the college during the spring semester. Companies contact the Career Services Office at 802- 728-1320 to select a date to visit the campus. We ask that companies provide literature and job descriptions to help in advertising the visit to students. The Career Services Office will publicize your visit through school newspapers, radio and email; coordinate student portfolios and resumes and manage logistics for the interview day. Several days before the corporate visit, we will fax the company a final student schedule of interviews, accompanying resumes and directions to our campus. Then the fun begins.
Job Posting Service
For companies that aren't able to visit the campus for recruiting, we offer a job posting service. We maintain a web site for employers to post jobs for permanent and summer help. We also create paper copies of these job openings to advertise in the Career Services Office. This can be a most useful tool to recruit students in the summer or fall after graduation or to reach our alumni pool. The best information to provide for students is the job title, job description, job requirements, benefits and how to apply for the job. Student Referrals Program
There are occasions when a company has a specific need for a unique type of student. For these companies we offer a student referral program. The company provides the Career Services Office with a detailed description of kind of candidate they are looking for. We will prescreen candidates and provide the company with a few selected resumes that will meet that company's requirements.
