Baseball

Coach Chuck Bradley has shepherded the Vermont Tech Baseball program to regional prominence in his five seasons at the helm. For many years, Vermont Tech played its baseball season only in the Fall. Traditionally, the team played a six week, sixteen game fall season. No more. Baseball has arrived-- big time--at Vermont Tech.

The 2006-07 academic year winessed Vermont Tech's entry into the NAIA and the Sunrise Conference. Accompanying this move was the establishment of a spring baseball season, in addition to the traditional fall season. In 2007-08 the baseball team will play an full 50 game schedule, evenly divided between spring and fall. The team is also fund-raising to support an additional five game swing through the southern states during this year's spring break. If you love baseball, Vermont Tech is a great place to play. You'll be in action for nearly seven months of the academic year. Our home field, cared for painstakingly by Coach Bradley himself, is one of the most beautiful small college fields in all of New England. When the weather prohibits outside practice, the team moves indoors into the SHAPE facility.

During the 2007 Fall Season the Green Knights posted an overall 17-7 regular season record and a 1-1 post season mark. The team was edged out by Southern Maine Tech in the Yankee Small College Conference Championship game held at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine.

Coach Bradley was named Coach of the Year by the his Yankee Small College Conference peers. Shortstop Eddie Stout was named Player of the Year. The team was led by senior Garrett Crawford, sophomore Joe Clough and freshman pitcher Blake Wright.

This Spring the Baseball team will compete in the Sunrise Conference against powerhouse Fisher College, SUNY/Canton, and the College of St. Joseph. The schedule also includes Vermont rivals, Castleton State, Lyndon State, Southern Vermont College, Norwich University and St. Michael's College.
