Direct Loan Entrance Counseling

In order to receive funding through the William D. Ford Federal Direct Student Loan Program, you will need to complete the following steps.

1.    Federal Direct Loan Entrance Counseling  Session
If you are a first time Federal Direct student loan borrower, you must attend a loan entrance counseling at which time your rights and responsibilities of borrowing a loan will be explained. Loan entrance counseling is a federal requirement and must be conducted prior to the first disbursement of a loan. Electronic loan entrance counseling is also available on the web at:

www.studentloans.gov

When you have completed the process, the VTC Financial Aid Office will have access to the information.

2.    Complete your Master Promissory Note on line. Go to:

www.studentloans.gov

Please note loan funds will not post to your student account until both these steps have been completed.
