Alternative Loans For Students
Sometimes federal loans are not enough to meet your educational expenses. The lending industry has recognized this fact and offers loan products for students that could fill the gap. However, alternative loans should only be used as a last resort after exploring all other financial aid options. Please reference our Private Loan Brochure as guide to responsible borrowing.
Listed below are some of the alternative loan programs our students have used in the past. We do not recommend any particular company, but are simply providing the information for your use. Students are free to choose and select any lender.
The student should apply with a credit-worthy co-signer. Some lenders may waive the cosigner requirement if the student has sufficient credit, but fees and interest rates may be higher without a cosigner. The student may choose to have payments of principal and interest deferred while enrolled.
