The TRIO/SSS program is a federal program aimed at helping first generation and low-income students, and students with a disability succeed in college. The program offers additional assistance to students in the following areas:
  • Personal counseling
  • Student skills assistance
  • Individual help with reading and writing
  • Career counseling and occupational information
  • Transfer counseling
  • Cultural events and trips
  • Support groups
  • Individual tutoring for most courses
  • Workshops on personal and academic issues
  • Mentoring
  • Emergency funds for single parents and displaced home makers

The SSS Program is a federally funded Title IV Project. $272,392 or 100% of the project costs are financed through the United States Department of Education to provide support services to first-generation college students, low-income college students, and students with disabilities. TRIO
