Jessie Hollyer

Allow us to introduce: Jessie Hollyer

LPN class of 2008

Jessie Hollyer grew up in Williamstown, Vermont and comes to us through the VAST program which both of her brothers were also a part of. The program allows her to spend her last year of high school at Vermont Tech and get her LPN license at the same time. She feels that this will give her a great start on her nursing career that she would not have gotten otherwise.

Jessie has always been the type of person who likes to take care of people. When she was twelve, she had appendicitis and had a great nurse who was a huge influence on her. "She made a big difference for me and I wanted to make that same difference in other people's lives.", says Jessie.

Jessie's long term career goal is to be a nursing midwife. She attended birthing classes with a friend and was blown away. She believes that Vermont Tech will give her an excellent jump start on this goal. She says of the faculty, "They are very adept - very good nurses and great teachers".
