Allow us to introduce: Christine Bittner
Equine Studies Class of 2011
Christine Bittner comes to Vermont Tech from Connecticut, where she became interested in horses at an early age while feeding apples to the horses that lived next to her grandmother's house. After years of persuading her mother that horseback riding wasn't so dangerous, she began riding English, then briefly tried Western, and then switched back to English to start jumping.
In high school, Christine was active with horses as a member of the FFA club, where she participated in the Horse Judging Competition and placed first in the state. In the fall of 2006 she attended Vermont Tech for Veterinary Technology but switched majors when the Equine Program started up because she thought that "it would better suit me because my original plan when applying to college was to enter an Equine program." She believes in education and says, "I hope to just learn as much as I can, and hopefully that will lead me to what I want to do [for a career]. I am very excited to start this fall and hope to learn a lot."
