Allow us to introduce: Lydia Petty
Dairy Management Class of 2008
Lydia Petty grew up in Randolph, Vermont and has been around Vermont Tech all of her life. Her father, Phil is a long time professor and advisor in the college community. Her earliest memories are of living in the Allen House at the northwest corner of campus. Her family used to walk around campus all the time and her favorite place was always the dairy farm.
Lydia believes that Vermont Tech has been a great fit for her. "This is the way education should be applied - applied and hands on. I can't imagine having a relationship with professors anywhere else like I do here", she says. "The way they advocate for students and help them to succeed is amazing."
After graduation, Lydia plans on continuing her education and earning her bachelor's degree. She is currently weighing her options and has not yet settled on a school. In the long term, she plans on staying in Vermont. She says, "I can't imagine living anywhere else". She would like to pursue a career that combines education and agriculture.
