Program Summary
The Associate of Engineering program in Aeronautical Engineering Technology is intended to advance Airframe and Power Plant professionals for a variety of challenging careers in Aeronautical, Aerospace and other careers needing strong skills in materials technology. Integral to the program is the FAA certified Airframe and Power Plant program offered at the Burlington Airport facility of the Burlington Technical Center. In conjunction, students complete the requirements of an Associates degree through additional studies in English, communications, mathematics, humanities and social sciences and the physical sciences.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the Aeronautical Engineering Technology program are able to work in any number of challenging positions. As engineering technicians, they may install, construct, maintain and test systems used for aircraft and space vehicles; calibrate test equipment and determine causes of equipment malfunctions; and use computer and communications systems to record and interpret test data.
Aeronautical/aerospace engineering technicians are among the highest paid of the engineering technology specialists, with a national median annual salary of $51,650 (US Department of Labor).
Campus Location
The Aeronautical Engineering Technology program is offered at the Williston Campus in collaboration with Burlington Technical Center and Burlington International Airport. The first two years of the program are taken at the Burlington Technical Center. Contact Rick Sylvester at (802) 864-8447.
