AdmissionsVeterans who are planning to attend Vermont Technical College using the GI Bill should indicate this on their Admissions Application. They should also go to http://www.gibill.va.gov and complete the VA Form 22-1990 Application for Educational Benefits online or download it and mail it to:

It takes weeks, but if eligible for benefits, the VA will send a letter of eligibility to the veteran, a copy of which should be forwarded to:

Once veteran eligibility is established, student enrollment will automatically be certified with the VA every semester that a student is enrolled. If a student does not want to be certified or is no longer eligible for VA benefits, notify the Registrar prior to the start of classes.
Veterans need to be prepared to purchase books and have living expenses for the first 4-6 weeks of classes. The initial payments are notoriously slow, but will be retroactive to the start of the term once they begin.
Post 9/11 (Chapter 33) students must notify the Registrar of any changes in tuition and fees after the initial enrollment certification is completed each semester. Post 9/11 (Chapter 33) students that are also receiving Air National Guard tuition reduction (25%) must notify the Registrar of this prior to each semester.
The BAH rate for all Vermont Tech students and campuses is based on the Randolph zip code no matter where the student lives or attends classes.
The first payments from the VA are normally four to six weeks from the beginning of the term, so veterans are not required to pay tuition, fees or room and board, prior to receiving their VA benefits. Students may also set up payment plans to stretch out payments over the term, if that becomes necessary. The amount of the payments is dependent on eligibility and entitlements.
Vermont Technical College does not do Advanced Payment requests for current students or applicants.
