Allow Us to Introduce: Trent RoleauClass of 2011
Trent Roleau is majoring in Diversified Agriculture and will be among the first to graduate with a Bachelors degree in this program in May, 2011. A native of Lincoln, Vermont, Trent earned his Associates degree in Dairy Farm Management in 2009.
Trent’s family owns and operates a small family farm in Lincoln where they raise beef cows and pigs on a part-time basis. After graduating, Trent plans to return to Lincoln where he would like to increase the scope of the farm to include dairy cows, and possibly the addition of a family farm store. “Farming is what I’ve always done and it’s what I love to do,” he said during a break at the Vermont Tech farmstead, where he is spending the summer working. “And Vermont Tech has been ideal in preparing me to continue in this field.”
“I will say it’s been a lot of hard work, but small class sizes, caring professors, and the college’s proximity to Lincoln have allowed me to pursue my education without losing touch with home. I still get home on weekends to help out – especially during sugaring season. But I also love the time I spend here. Vermont Tech has turned out to be everything – and more – than I’d hoped for.”
