Started in 2009, the Northeast Kingdom region of Vermont Tech includes Newport, Lyndon, and White River Junction distance education sites.
The Lyndon site telepresence studio is located at Lyndon State College. This studio can accommodate 18 students at one time and is located in the Vail building, room 120. Lyndon based students have their clinical experiences at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) as well as several long term care facilities and health care agencies in the greater Caladonia County community. The NEK Site Director and full time faculty have their office space at Lyndon State College. The nursing skills lab and simulation lab for this site are located in St. Johnsbury, VT at NVRH.
The Newport telepresence studio is located in the North Country Career Center, adjacent to North Country High School. This telepresence student can accommodate 18 students. Clinical experiences for Newport based students occur at North Country Hospital (NCH) as well as several agencies in the community. NCH partners with Vermont Tech to provide clinical instruction by a nurse educator employed at NCH. The nursing skills lab and simulation lab space are also located at NCH.
The White River Junction telepresence studio is located at Upper Valley Community College of Vermont in Wilder, VT. This studio can hold 18 students. Clinical facilities for White River Junction based students include Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Mt. Ascutney Hospital, and Alice Peck Day Hospital. The White River Junction skills and simulation lab is also located at Upper Valley CCV.
