Faculty Profiles |  | Peter Chapin Computer Information Technology Computer Software Engineering
He is a member of both the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). In the early 90’s Peter was also a member of X3J16; a technical committee charged with standardizing the C++ programming language. He is also in charge of software development for the CubeSat Lab, a research collaboration between Vermont Tech, Norwich University, and the University of Vermont.

Gordon Reynolds Civil & Environmental Engineering
Gordon was a Commander of the United States Navy Reserve from 1984 to 2007. He achieved his Commercial Pilots License and at one time was a Certified Flight Instructor. A NAUI Certified SCUBA diver, Gordon is advisor to the Scuba Diving Club on campus. Work history started out in Alabama with Robert R. Reynolds Contracting Co., Inc. as a Project Manager and then he began survey work with Charley Foster and Associates.

Ellen B. Grimes, RDH, MA, MPA, Ed. D Dental Hygiene
Ellen was the President of the Vermont Dental Hygienists’ Association from 1993-1994 and has served that organization in numerous capacities to date. In 1998 she was honored with the VDHA Outstanding Dental Hygienist of the Year Award and in 2001 she received the UVM Krospsch Maurice Award for teaching excellence. Presently, she is serving as the Immediate Past President of the Summa Chapter of the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society.

Faye Tolar, M.Ed., RRT Respiratory Therapy
Faye is affiliated with the American Associate for Respiratory Care and the Vermont/New Hampshire Society for Respiratory Care. Previously a Secretary and Delegate for the AARC’s Political Advocacy Contact Team, she is now currently their Vermont representative. Since 1986, Faye has been a Registered Respiratory Therapist and is currently licensed in the state of Vermont as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.

Ralph Esposito, Ph.D.Electrical Engineering Technology  Electromechanical Engineering
Ralph holds thirty years of experience in education from teaching a variety of technical courses, and developing courses and training programs for numerous colleges and IBM. He has taught for the University of RI’s Extension Division, Roger William’s Junior College, St. Peter’s School, Union College Extension, Polytechnic University/Marist College and Dutchess Community College. In 2002, he began his time with Vermont Tech. Ralph belongs to the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and is a member of Sigma Xi. He is also a co-holder of a patent assigned to IBM.

Joyce Twing Business Technology Management
Joyce taught high school for fifteen years; and during that time, she published several textbooks with McGraw-Hill. Joyce has served on the National Board of Directors for the Future Business Leaders of America and has also been an Education and Corporate Trainer.. At Vermont Tech, she received both the Wonkka Advising Award and the Harold G. Wirtz Master Teacher Award.

Scott Sabol, PE Architectural and Building Engineering Technology
Scott was the Director of the Delaware Transportation Institute in the 1990s, during which time he helped with the design and construction of one of the first fiber-reinforced roadway bridges in the United States. He is a member of several professional societies, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-conditioning Engineers, and the National Society of Professional Engineers. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Vermont.

Andy MyrickConstruction Practice and Management
Andy has been awarded by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ High School Level Engineering Curriculum; Honorable mention – Research and Design Lab, South Burlington High School. In ’91, Andy had a 90th percentile national ranking in the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute for Carpentry. Andy’s work experience consists of Business Management, Carpentry/Lead Carpenter and agriculture. In 2005, Andy became Vermont Tech’s Construction Management department Chair.
