Allow Us to Introduce: Amy Galipeault

Class of 2011

Amy Galipeault comes to Vermont Tech from Danville, VT and reports that she has "been on a horse since the day I was born." Amy's mother and grandmother both have ridden for all of their lives, and her grandmother shared with Amy her years of experience with showing and fox hunting around New England. Her family currently owns a farm and keeps five horses, one of whom is a Connemara/Arabian/Quarter Horse cross that Amy purchased as a six-month old and trained by herself.

There have been many opportunities for Amy to develop her skill with horses, including at Dr. Hartong's stable working with Rocky Mountain gaited horses, with Cindy Rodd, and at Bruce Brink's stable in Danville. She believes that the Vermont Tech program will help her to learn more about "equine dentistry, farrier training, equine massage, nutrition, breeding, training methods, and barn management techniques."

Amy is an accomplished artist who recently won the National Jr. Duck Stamp Award for the State of Vermont, and her skill on the soccer field recently helped the Vermont Tech women's soccer team to secure a spot at the USCAA National Championship Tournament in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
