Student Profiles | | Allow Us to Introduce: Desireé CerretaniClass of 2011
Desireé comes to Vermont Tech from the small town of Arlington, Vermont. For college she originally chose to head to Connecticut and to the University of Hartford, but after spending a year in the big city, she decided to come back to Vermont. "At VTC you get to be a part of a great community which is more like one big family. I absolutely love this school and would recommend it to anyone."
She chose this career path because she has always loved working with her hands and having hands on classes, plus her natural aptitude for math and science. During the summer before her senior year in high school she was able to attend the Governor's Institute: Engineering hosted by UVM and after exploring many aspects of the engineering world she knew that Electromechanical Engineering was what she wanted to do
Looking towards the future Desireé feels one of two career paths might be right for her. "I have a passion for planes," she says, and that leads her to one career path in designing planes and making safer air travel. The other path is working for a company working to solve the energy, fuel and food crisis currently affecting our country.
