Class of 2011
Wilson Schreiber is 2011 Engineer of the Year
Wilson Schreiber of Brattleboro, Vermont has been named Vermont Tech’s 2011 Student Engineer of the Year. He will graduate this spring with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electromechanical Engineering Technology.
Schreiber will be honored by Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin at the annual Engineers’ Week awards ceremony held in the Ceremonial Office of the State House in Montpelier, as well as at a banquet dinner held in Burlington on February 25, 2011. The dinner is part of a National Engineers’ Week observance that brings together engineering students and practitioners from throughout the state.
Schreiber, who was awarded the college’s Technician of the Year award in 2009, is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society of the Two Year College and Tau Alpha Pi, the National Honor Society of Engineering Technology. He is currently project manager for the NASA CubeSat Ground Control Electromechanical Senior Project. While pursuing his bachelor’s degree, Schreiber also interned at DEKA Research and Development, catching the eye and interest of its founder, Dean Kamen, inventor of the Segway.
