Originally from New Orleans, Amy comes to Vermont Tech by way of Minneapolis, MN and is attending classes at our Williston campus. Amy made the most of her time at Vermont Tech. She was president of her Practical Nursing class last year; she has initiated, on her own, many volunteer/community service activities such as collecting old eye glasses in cooperation with the Lion’s Club and creating the Scrubs for Pups program (a scrubs donation drive for the Chittenden County Humane Society). And this year, she was awarded the New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) nursing scholarship…the first Williston student ever to receive the award. We finally caught up with Amy this week – the last week of classes – to learn more about her Vermont Tech experience.

Karla Cabral Dental Hygiene Class of 2012
Karla comes to Vermont Tech from Cape Cod, Massachusetts and is attending classes at our Williston campus. Since most of out-of-state residential students live and attend classes at our Randolph Center campus, we wanted to know why Karla chose to pursue her degree at Vermont Tech – Williston over someplace closer to home, and how she is enjoying her overall college experience. John RobinsonCivil and Environmental Engineering Class of 2011
While studying and playing basketball at Christ the King High School in Queens, NY, John was introduced to and recruited by Men’s Basketball Coach John Dyer, who quickly saw his potential as both a student and player. For his part, John saw an opportunity to get out of the city for awhile, pursue a degree in Civil Engineering, and get some real playing time in college-level basketball

Trent Roleau
Diversified Agriculture Class of 2011
Trent Roleau is majoring in Diversified Agriculture and will graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in May, 2011. A native of Lincoln, Vermont, Trent earned his Associates degree in Dairy Farm Management in 2009. Read more about Trent Roleau
Stephanie Adams Nursing
After reading about the recent earthquake in Haiti, ADN student Stephanie Adams felt compelled to visit the country and volunteer her services. Her future goals are to pbtain a nursing position in a hospital setting and continue to perform volunteer work as a nurse throughout the community and worldwide.

Desireé CerretaniElectromechanical Engineering Technology Class of 2011
Desireé comes to Vermont Tech from the small town of Arlington, Vermont. She originally chose a large out of state school but after a year returned to Vermont. Desireé is interested in designing planes and might choose a career path related to making air travel safer. She is also interested in working towards improving technology related to fuel, food or energy conservation.

Iris DavisArchitectural Engineering Technology Class of 2011
Iris is from Moretown, VT where she grew up on a dairy farm. Knowing that farming wasn't what she wanted to do in life she took the opportunity to be a member of the VAST Class of 2007 where she was able to explore a major in college during her senior year of high school while still participating in activities at her sending high school.

Amy GalipeaultEquine Studies Class of 2011
Amy Galipeault comes to Vermont Tech from Danville, VT and reports that she has "been on a horse since the day I was born." Amy's mother and grandmother both have ridden for all their lives. Her family currently owns a farm and keeps five horses, one of whom is a Connemara/Arabian/Quarter Horse cross that Amy purchased as a six-month old and trained by herself.

Vincent LentiniComputer Software Engineering Class of 2011
Vincent is originally from Barre, Vermont. He is a former student of Spaulding High School, and the Barre Technology Center. He has been interested in learning about computers since childhood and before attending Vermont Tech, spent 2 years learning computer programming at the Barre Technology Center.

Maryah MerloComputer Engineering Technology Class of 2011
Maryah has lived all over Vermont, but graduated from Hartford High School. Her brother got her interested in computers and she came to Vermont Tech to learn more about them. After graduation she plans on continuing her education in Vermont Tech's Bachelor of Science in Computer Software Engineering program.

Michelle PannielloComputer Information Technology Class of 2011
Michelle Panniello is originally from White River Junction, Vermont. She came to Vermont Tech after spending three semesters at a larger university where she majored in psychology. The transfer was inspired by the desire to be on a small campus where classes are personal and the professors really care about the success of their students.

Michael SmithComputer Information Technology Class of 2011
Mike has spent all of his Vermont Tech career at the Williston campus. He is currently seeking his bachelor's degree in Information Technology. During his time at Vermont Tech, he's switched majors a couple times, but still plans on graduating on time.

Eliza WakefieldEquine Studies Class of 2011
Eliza was born in St. Johnsbury, VT but has lived in Danville, VT all of her life. She traveled around the country throughout her youth; however, she never has found an interest to replace her dream of working with horses. Eliza wants to help abused and neglected horses who need to find caring homes.
