A Message from Dr. Philip Conroy | | Welcome to Vermont Technical College.
Unique among its peers, Vermont Tech offers a learning experience unlike any other in Vermont: focused classroom instruction interwoven with real-time, hands-on experience taught by professors who are experts in their field.
As Vermont’s only technical college, we take our mission to produce competent, thoughtful, and resourceful members of tomorrow’s workforce very seriously. Our students come to us from fourteen states and twenty-one countries (2011-12), and they leave us well-prepared for success in their chosen careers.
How do we know this? We hear it from employers who seek out our graduates year after year. We hear it from parents who take pride in watching their children grow into productive and successful members of society. We hear it from alumni who quickly rise to positions of leadership in their respective fields. And we hear it from students who appreciate the personal attention they receive from faculty and staff who genuinely care about their success.
In addition to a learning environment steeped in academic excellence, Vermont Tech also offers a wide range of clubs and activities, including varsity and intramural sports. We have our own ski hill and rope tow at our Randolph Center campus, as well as a state of the art athletic and fitness complex. Our Williston campus, just minutes from downtown Burlington, offers additional programs and flexibility for students who may also be juggling work and family life.
We’re a small, personal college that’s committed to the academic and professional success of every student. And that commitment is evident all across Vermont Tech: in the classroom, in the student center, at our athletic events, and at our many college-related activities. We have an average class size of just 15 and a student-to-faculty ratio of 12:1, our academic programs are rigorous enough to rank us among the top colleges in the northern U.S., and we’re constantly adding new baccalaureate programs every year.
As you explore our web site and learn more about the people, programs, and activities that will shape your college experience, remember that the best way to get to know a place is to visit it in person. To that end, I encourage you to visit our campuses and see for yourself how Vermont Tech can help you achieve your personal, academic, and career goals.
I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the Vermont Tech family.
Dr. Philip A. Conroy, President
