This course introduces students to the major concepts, issues, research, and scientific methods upon which our knowledge of human thought and behavior are built. Geared for both majors and non-majors, this course provides the basis for further study of psychology as well as a sense of how psychological issues are involved in a variety of academic fields and students’ personal lives. Course content is selected from topics including research methods, neurophysiology, states of consciousness, learning, memory, theories of personality, motivation, social psychology, and abnormal behavior.
