Coder Camp for Girls

2017 Summer Camp Dates:
July 17-21  |  Williston Campus

Coder Camp for Girls is designed to give young girls the opportunity to bring their creativity and translate that into an active software coding environment.

The Coder Camp for Girls is a day camp designed for girls ages 11–16 who want to learn about software development and experience making a program of their own creation.

Campers will work with Vermont Tech faculty and student counselors who have extensive experience with software development and inspired learning with a wide variety of students.

Campers will learn to program using SCRATCH, a friendly and robust programming language tool developed by MIT.

The camp experience includes a strong education component with computer labs each day to work on the development of a program, a field trip to a local software development company, and with physical activity that will reinforce the labs with logic, team building, and some good old fashioned fun.

The camp experience will culminate with girls being able to present their program creations to parents. Come see how your child has harnessed big ideas, gained essential programming skills, and the confidence to translate that into a runnable program.

Register by June 1

The Coder Camp for Girls is made possible through a Vermont educational grant and the Vermont Women’s Fund, a supporting organization of the Vermont Community Foundation.
