EPA Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting Certification

If you are a contractor, carpenter, plumber, or electrician who works on homes built before 1978, you must be certified according to the EPAs Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule. Vermont Tech's Green Trainings offers both Lead RRP initial and refresher training that will certify you to meet the law. These trainings will instruct you in what you need to know to protect yourself and your customers from the dangers of lead paint and lead dust.

OSHA 10 Construction

This two-day training is intended to provide building-trade workers with information about how to recognize, avoid and prevent job-related hazards, as well as provide information on employee rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. The training covers a variety of construction safety and health hazards which a worker may encounter at a construction site and will emphasize hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention.

Vermont Lead Law - Essential Management Practices

Vermont Technical College is partnering with Vermont Department of Health to offer the Vermont Lead Law- Essential Maintenance Practices Training Course which is required for pre-1978 rental property owners and persons performing maintenance repairs and renovation.

VT Lead Law EMP Certification

Completing this course will provide those who attend a certification of training and the basic knowledge  and information for meeting the compliance requirements of Vermont Lead Law  and how to work safely with lead-based paint. This course fulfills the training requirement described in the Vermont Lead Law and is necessary for filing the annual Essential Maintenance Practices Compliance Statement related to performing visual inspection, paint stabilization and maintenance on rental units and daycare facilities that were built before 1978.

Information covered in the class includes:

  • The requirements of Vermont's Lead-based Paint Laws and related federal regulations
  • The health effects of lead in children and adults
  • Lead-safe work practices and maintenance procedures
  • Specialized cleaning techniques and equipment for removing lead-contaminated dust

 

This training taught through the Vermont Department of Health and is FREE of cost to participants.
