The Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center (VMEC) has operated statewide as a not for profit Center since 1995. The primary mission of VMEC is “To help improve and grow manufacturing in Vermont and strengthen the global competitiveness of the state’s smaller manufacturers.” This is accomplished by leveraging private and public partnerships and by providing hands-on implementation assistance, consulting, training and coaching.
VtSBDC provides no-cost, confidential business advising and low-cost training services to all small businesses and new ventures in Vermont. Our business advisors are highly trained, experienced business people committed, as individuals and as a team, to working with you. Our training programs are offered on-line and in-person and cover a wide range of topics important to your business’s success.
The Vermont Student Assistance Corp. was created in 1965 as a public nonprofit agency to help Vermonters who want to go to college or other training after high school.

The Governor’s Institutes of Vermont creates prestigious, fun, accelerated learning residencies on college campuses for highly-motivated Vermont teenagers. There are Governor’s Institutes focused on Arts, Engineering, Information Technology, Environmental Science and Technology, Mathematics, Asian Cultures, and Current Issues and Youth Activism – plus special Topics Institutes on Farms, Food and Your Future and Entrepreneurship. Any Vermont student can ask his/her school guidance counselor for referral to a Governor’s Institute for an unforgettable experience of extreme learning and extreme fun.
