Greetings from Pat Menchini

Pat MenchiniTo Prospective Students, Families, and Members of the Vermont Community:

At Vermont Tech, we offer a practical, powerful, career-focused education at a college that is a warm and supportive learning community. As President, I’m proud of who we are — and I’m happy to introduce our college to you.

The Vermont Tech approach to learning is both academic and hands-on. This means that our students examine the theories behind the material they’re studying, and have exciting opportunities to put what they learn — plus their own ideas — into actual practice. Every one of our 30-plus bachelor’s and associate degree programs gives our students a solid, up-to-date base of knowledge, skills, and experience. This approach really works: each year for the past two decades, 98 percent of Vermont Tech graduates have consistently found employment and/or continued their education.

We’re a small, personal college that’s committed to the personal and academic success of every single student. You’ll see, hear, and feel this commitment all across Vermont Tech: in the classroom, in the student center, at our athletic events, and at our many college-related activities. We have an average class size of 16 and a student-to-faculty ratio of 11:1, so Vermont Tech students never get lost in the crowd. Our academic programs are rigorous enough to rank us among the top colleges in the northern U.S. — and we provide a variety of academic tutoring and study-skills assistance to help every single student achieve, advance, and succeed.

Our beautiful Green Mountain State provides a year-round wealth of outdoor activities — skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and more. We even have our own ski hill and rope tow at our scenic, 544-acre Randolph Center campus, for snowboarders and skiers to enjoy after class. Our Williston campus, just minutes from downtown Burlington and beautiful Lake Champlain, offers students additional programs and flexibility. A wide variety of clubs and activities, including varsity and intramural sports, give our students great choices for relaxing from their courses, seminars, and labs.

I hope you'll take the time to personally visit our campuses and see for yourself how Vermont Tech can help you achieve your personal, academic, and career goals.

Best wishes,

Pat Menchini,
Interim President, Vermont Technical College.
